Many of you know that couple months ago I left my Corporate America full-time PR-girl job full of benefits like vacation days and health insurance to chase my dream of being an author. I’ve been working on my sci-fi fantasy magic storyline since 2010 and I think it’s time, with an encouraging push that I needed from my dad, that I took the leap of faith to share my book with the world. However, as much as my dad would like to support me forever with the Daddy Grant, I only have 8 months to write it all, edit, find a publisher and head in the direction of getting paid for it before I pack it up and call it a passion project.
Anddddd naturally I decided to spend some of that precious time vlogging (aka video-logging) the journey. Drum roll please! Introducing my first Writer’s Desk vlog documenting month 1 and 2 as an emerging author (or at least trying to be). Oh and lesson learned, I held my phone the wrong way so it goes from horizontal to vertical a lot. Mental note for month 3, in addition to backup everything ALWAYS or be sad forever.
Month 1 and 2 were curveballs and required adjustment. Plus, I think I need an office space or somewhere to get out and go work (away from Milo clearly). So that leaves room for improvement in month 3 to make it fire. Plus my new planner by Rifle Paper Co totally helps me kick ass. Maybe all you need is a pretty floral booklet and a red pen to mark all over it to make you achieve your goals!
