Ever since I was a child I had a thing with photos and cameras:
Age 3: Cried if you tried to take photos of me. Literally, don’t you dare leave the baby version of me in front of a camera because waterfalls everywhere. Proof still exists just not on here…
Age during the big blur known as college: I took a pink digital camera with me everywhere, strapped to my wrist, click clacking away. I was the girl who had 20K photos on Facebook that I had to hide and delete and remove because #werk
Fast forward age 23+some: The year I invested in a really cool DSLR, returned it and bought a camera that was more me (i.e. smaller and more complicated because duh) and less what was expected of me as a blogger and followed my dreams to learn photography and apply it to my career. Enter BATPic.
This is a **new** series on showcasing photos that I’ve taken which I’ve wanted to start for a really long time to start building out an online portfolio and no better time then now as I shift focus of BATP to be more on visuals as I save all my really good words for this fantasy fictional book I’m writing. And you know, what better place to start then with food! Lucky for me, my cousin is a great baker + business savvy owner of Sweet Tooth so she made it easy to take good photos during the gorgeous event she decorated in gold and pink and the main ingredient: glitter – putting together the sweetest bridal shower for the sweetest. So basically, I was dealt a winning hand for my first ever BATPic!
Everything was as delicious in real life as these photos so perfectly capture! The next thing I want to learn is editing because that can alter everything by making photos pop and fixing “imperfections” but, for now, I think these raw photos do damn good justice. And the concept of editing requires time which, does anyone ever have enough time in the day?
If you like what you see and want to see more, follow me on Facebook, Instagram and the likes because I plan to ramp it up! And yes, your girl totally takes photos at events or even a handful of fashion shoots and professional head shots, so if you want a paparazzie-esque feel capturing sweet moments at your next thing, send me an email at xoBATP@gmail.com and book BATPic (PS: I also know that baker + event planner’s digits if you want some yummys dolled to perfection, just say the word!) xox
