July zoomed on by! Like, deep in my heart, I can’t believe its already the last day of the month. Makes me question what I have been up to lately. Unfortunately its not all that sparkles and shine dealing with some medical crap – infections, hives, fainting… you know that kinda crap. And crap like that should only happen during one time in your life: freaking the cold months and not be a bummer during the summer. In and out of doctor visits and feeling healthy and happy (thank you!), there were still a lot of great things happening this month!
1// I got to spend 4th of July at a beach bonfire in LA celebrating America and one of my favorite people’s 30th birthday! LA sunshine is always relaxing and exactly the downtime I need to unwind of the daily grind – however, literally cannot believe that was only 3ish weeks ago because it feels like a lifetime
2// I got to hang out with Houston Texans’ linebacker, Brian Cushing! Ok, “hang out” but I did get to pass him a sticky note giving him tips on how to handle tough media questions which he took like a champ – yas, working girl high five!
3// I got my July Birchbox – to the wrong address because I haven’t updated all the information since I’ve moved (eeek! yes!) – but no matter the struggle it was super exciting because it’s actually my favoriteee box yet! Ok, and also one of the most complicated boxes yet. How? Ya, read on.
BATP B-Box Fave | stila Liquid Lipstick
I love trying new lip colors except I’m really, like really, bad at putting it on. I can do a smokey eye better than putting on a shade of lipstick. Somehow it ends up all over my face. Someone give me tips especially when you are dealing with such a pretty, vibrant and long-lasting color such as this one! Summer staple perfection to go bold! Not to mention, knocked it out of the park with its smooth formula – LOVE!
The Scariest of Them All | Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray
Ok so dry shampoo isn’t scary. It’s actually a blessing that I use all the time. However, this little guy from Oribe was weirdly hard to figure out and then when the bottle finally sprayed out, I may or may not have yelped a little. I was NOT expecting it to be so loud.. or so complicated…
Too Tiny To Try | Benefit Push-Up Liner
Similar to having droopy or A-cup problems you need a push-up bra, so I guess this is that equivalent for saggy, small eyes? Ya, that’s probably not it and truth be told, I can’t really tell you because the sample was too small and, yes, too complicated to try… but I’m intrigued if I ever get my hands on a full size one
The Messiest of the Bunch that I’m Almost Confident I May Have Used Wrong | Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid
I’ve heard of Dr. Jart+ products before as one of the best cosmetics for skin care so was thrilled to get this but IDK what the heck “Ceramidin Liquid” is and it came with no label or instructions making it c o m p l i ca t e d. Whatever this is actually used for, I put it on my face and arms and instantly my skin felt so super smooth! So basically it’s magic. Even though it was messy and gooy and looks like eye drops, user beware, it belongs nowhere near your eyes.
Time is Money, Bro | Real Chemistry Luminous 3-minute Peel
Asking for three minutes of my time is like…asking a lot from a tiny, little sample. Three minutes is my entire beauty regimen during the work week – and that include washing my face. It’s the simple beautiful life. I’m not nixing this out just yet because baiii dead skin cells, but I am just waiting for, you know, the time. Ya feel me?
PS: I hear for August, Birchbox teamed up with Nicole Richie. WHAT! Yas! So much to look forward to! I hope it’s more lip colors and a mascara. Ca mon, mascara!!! If you’re thrilled and want in on it, sign up to get your box and then we can talk birch-faves and box-waste xox
