It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s the cheesiest line BATP has ever opened with but, hey, thats ok because today we are sharing some (more) secrets. The good posts deserves good pickup lines #ThatsWhyImSingle ……because I think that’s a good pickup line….ca mon, no? Ok so, anyways. Through the years of writing on BATP, you guys have learned a lot about me and my secrets. Don’t worry I won’t quiz you about it…but a little recap of my dreams of writing a book and one day, maybe, running the Boston Marathon. Some I’ve accomplished – not those two obviously – some I’ve tweaked along the way and some I realized just weren’t for me. Dreams change. I was ok with that.
But what about those hidden talents?
Hidden talents are like secret weapons – they can inspire you to do the unbelievable. My hidden talent: I demand attention. All future boyfriends tiptoeing away quietly but hah, I’m serious. Over the years of seeking attention from family, friends, girlfriends, and even my dog Benji, I’ve become an expert on how to do it right and MORE SO have embodied it in my career.
When I speak, I know how to keep attention of everyone listening and command a presence to be heard. I can quickly tell who is engaged and identify who isn’t buying what I’m saying, allowing me to focus my attention on them and shift the conversation as necessary to make sure they are also hearing me. Basically, I can keep everyone focused on what I have to say, without even realizing it. This helps with new business pitches and small group settings like a steal… 20ish people max. Put me in front of a large crowd though and I’m a deer in headlights. But basically that’s how I succeed – especially in interviews! I’ve found my talent and I use it endlessly…with a smile of course!
Some of my favorite bloggers also share how they use their hidden talents – check it out to learn how to leverage your own talents:

With that said, HOPE YOU READ ALL THE WAY TO THE END, ahem attention thing, ahem. Oh ya….
With my undivided attention,
I have to say, this is one thing my dog is awesome at – he knows when I need attention!
That’s such a good talent! Commanding attention is such an important skill to have in your arsenal. And hey, networking and getting people to listen could help you land a publishing deal one day! xo
Awe, that made me smile 🙂 Thanks for the kind words (and inspiration)! Fingers crossed!! xox
