Spring is here and you know what that means: spring cleaning aka conquering the closet. Which is really hard because I am legit like the biggest hoarder known to mankind so what spring cleaning truely means is time to stash clothes for years until they become vintage. Like seriously, when will my two-toned, blue, plastic, rectangular Coach purse come back into style? Ugh. Vivid memories of my mom scolding me that this would be the worst decision of my life in the strip of Vegas more than 10 years ago. Hey man, bell bottom jeans made a return from hell so who knew?
I DIGRESS. Where was I? Right. Spring cleaning.
This spring, I’m changing things up and giving “clean” a new meaning. Give me a hand while I stand up on my pedestal. Clear throat. Remain dramatic and ok.
Along the way of life, sometimes you don’t realize the habits you have made – which isn’t necessarily a bad thing – but I am a strong believer of always testing your mind and body of their limits. There have been times where I’ve reached a cap making it easier to break habits. Othertimes, you don’t realize negative energy your habits can be causing but become addicted to it, like its supposed to be the way of life. With that, this spring cleaning I’m sweeping and washing away habits just to switch things up and mix up my routine. Plus, you will never know if you like something or hate it if you don’t try it, at the very least, once in your life including:
- Ponytails! I always go long hair dont care, curls, frizz and all but I want to switch things up and try new looks on me. Ca mon, the ponytail totally worked in elementary for me and imagine the time I can save
- Blogger by night! Doesn’t necessarily have to mean blogger by midnight (you’ve seen the snaps #NoJudgementZone). I’m going to switch things up and not write into the wee hours of the night. I end up having to edit the crap out of it anyways. Translation: I need to stop procrastinating on weekends.
- Pop of Pink! I tend to go a la mode with my makeup but pink blush, lipstick and nailpolish screams spring!! Not to mention I’m a worse beauty product hoarder than I am clothes.
- Eat Breakfast! This is embarrassing but I am always running late in the mornings so I tend to grab a coffee and go. I know, I know but it’s the most nutritious part of your day. I know. Maybe this needs to change to wake up like 15 minutes earlier which seems totally doable if I stick to number 2 on this list and sleep at an appropriate hour.
You see, it’s all intertwined! Making it a personal mission to be all about decluttering life of the habits I’ve made over 20 something odd years.
And ok, clean room, clean mind, so guess I can’t completely weasel my way out of physically cleaning.
LYLAS who hates cleaning,
