St. Patrick’s Day is upon this entire weekend and it’s the one time even I, a mutt of nothing European in any form or shape, can pass for Irish this weekend. Pause and reflect on when the college in me will go away…. ya, possibly never. Though no celebration is ever complete without a parade (ok, or the child in me), here are other ways to get green and get lucky this weekend:
You know that they say, everything is bigger in Texas. Bigger homes, bigger cars, bigger men (eh, fingers crossed?!!) and, yes, bigger pub crawls. The Houston St. Paddy’s Pub Crawl is here… and it’s three days long. My only advice: pace yourself. However, if you want to go solo-dolo, you won’t need luck of the Irish to find green beer this weekend but in case you needed some direction, try Celtic Gardens because y’all know how much I loveeee that place!
For you adventure junkies, Tour De Houston is this weekend with trails along the bayou and in the city. Of course the most biking I can do is my weekly spinning class, but for you brave and strong souls I hear it’s a great way to see Houston in a whole different way.
Or you can find me celebrating my sister’s birthday at the Rodeo!! Never a bad day or time to go to a Luke Bryan concert because y’all, he’s sexy…..
In the spirit of green things, happy people and good music, be yourself and party hard, but remember the rules of Southern hospitality. Behave yourself, plan for a DD (or try lyft! Hear they may or may not be offering a free service as they “test it out” aka figure out the legals and financials of working in Houston) and, for the sake of the Irish, don’t post any incriminating photos on Instagram or make any desperate, stalking phone calls to any of your exes.
You have my Irish blessings,
