Years in PR seem to go by so fast. It’s like dog years times one million. And a new year can only mean one thing: tons of new, smart, creative PR trends to look forward to! Here is a roundup of where I see PR going in 2014:
Mobile. Mobile. Mobile. We all wish 2013 would just go out the window, but some things linger. And that is the case with mobile. I know I said it before, but I really believe it hasn’t hit the ground running as fast as it can or should be. The day I can truly say PR has gone mobile is when a corporate release includes hyperlinks between paragraphs and 140-character tweets-pitches.
Meet your new hero: The Superfan. Ditch the overpaid spokesperson and let’s look at what works: ordinary joes and josephines who already (key word: already) love your brand, message, product and cannot live without it! There are few brands that come to mind when I think about loyalty, but when I’m committed, it’s all I can talk about in all shapes, sizes and forms.
