It’s officially 2014!!! And let me be the first to tell you that it just doesn’t feel like a new year. 2013 was definitely the year of change making some big moves in my personal and career life. And let me also tell you it was rough. I believe (some-what-just-a-little) in astrology of all types and it was the Year of the Snake and that was supposed to be a hard year for me. Well, ya, but this snake survived.
So you would think I would be particularly happy about a new year. And I am. I’m just going in with zero expectations. WHICH HELLO, is really hard for me, but it’s true. No expectations of this year. None. Sorry 2014.
However – I’m a resolutions type of gal. Resolutions keep you on track. Did I run 1,000 miles or blog twice a week? Ugh. NO. But thank you for supporting me as I did run a total of 450 miles and blogged 78 times. I learned a lot. Particularly that I hate counting miles but fitness is now part of my daily regimen, writing is a creative outlet, and my skin care standards have increased ten fold (so that one I did achieve). So this is what I have in mind for 2014:
Listen More. And not just listen to what people are saying, but what do they mean by it.
Be selfish. With my time. With opportunities at work. With the people I call friends and have in my life. With my attention and focusing my emotions toward me and noone else. I think its fair.
That’s it. So Surprise me 2014? Nah, I’ll surprise myself.
