Congratulations Houston, You have (another) problem – me!
And as far as I can tell, I’m not going anywhere. It’s officially 100 days since I moved back after 6 years! That’s 2,190 days! And after spending ¼ of 2013 in Clutch City, I’ve found 6 places that I love (almost) everything about (eh, like 99% in most cases)…
Ok, so the crowd at 1919 is a bit “40s-single-unless-you-count-married-to-ma-money” but I went with the best company, had a lot of items off of their menu that included strawberries, watermelons and a fire show… at least from what I remember. There was a cute patio area but my hair was not about that Texas Humidity life.
I went to The Ice Barn with my sister and cousin on hot fall day and it was the perfect way to cool off. Shaved ice is always delicious but so is corn with everything and a new delight – chilly cheese flaming hot cheetos. I didn’t say we were skinny girls that weekend… we were def not. Oh and the bees are scary.
If you know anything about me it’s that I love everything about The Hobbit. Does that mean I’m into Star Wars? No. But the book was on point. And so when I was invited to go to the Hobbit Cafe, I threw away what I was eating and was there in 20 (sorry kids in the villages of not USA)
This has to be one my my absolute favorite places! Celtic Gardens is laid back and the outdoor set up is great (especially at night when its all lit up). It was the best place to go to have some cinnamon flavored drinks and talk… ya, talk… because it isn’t one of those overly loud places (at least not at 11 am on a Saturday morning)
So now you know I have a sweet spot for out-doorsy places. The Grove was one of those and really amazing for after-work shindings and I’ve heard great things about their brunch. There is an awesome view of downtown and Discovery Green – just makes you feel at home.
Everything is better with good food, good company and good music,
PS: I realize that is 5. But I guess the 6th one is simply: home sweet home.
