Oh hello Valentine’s Day, I will never understand you. You are just as confusing and consuming as my first (and thankfully last) rhetoric class in college. Side note – Ha, Mr. Professor Sucks-A-Lot who graded my papers so subjectively, I’m a blogger now and I remember nothing that you didn’t teach me. Anyways, back to the real topic…
On this day, we Single Ladies (hands put up high) will without fail roll our eyes at all things pink, all the men we see with roses in their hands (unless it’s for your mom then awww), and at all the newly engaged couples (let’s be more cliché, shall we?). We will ALL smile politely (code for internally rolling our eyes) at our friends who say this holiday is not just for couples, it’s for lovers BUT newsflash jokes on you, this day is actually for the world.
So for everyone who cupid didn’t shoot with love arrows, I have something a bit cooler for you and I’M GIVING THEM AWAY!! These Luv The World Tees by NYC designer extraordinaire makes falling in love easier than any man I’ve ever encountered. Each of these fab shirts, when purchased, donates 20-25% to a worldly cause whether it’s education, poverty, the environment or gun control. Basically that means today you love the world, tomorrow the world will love you (good karma??)
These bad boys could be yours BUT all you have to do is share your worst dating story on V-Day so I can feel better. Kidding. (But not really…)I’ll be picking not one, or two, but THREE fab winners (two randomly and one “crowd fave” with my esteemed panel of judges) on Monday (2/18) and the winners will each receive one of the lovely world-saving shirts as a Valentine’s gift (and yes, you can choose your shirt–a first and second choice)!
- Post your bad or funny dating/ relationship story as a comment on this blog (you can be anonymous, but be sure to give me your real email address in case you win). Ideally, stories should have a happy ending but let’s just leave that for Disney Princesses.
- Make sure you follow Luv The World (@TweetsOfLuv) on Twitter OR like them on Facebook. It’s a requirement to win!!
Here is some inspiration on bad dating stories to let you know you aren’t alone… where shall I even begin? There’s the Pearl Ring Guy, The Clingy Skinny Fingers Guy and oh, my favorite, The Found Out We Broke Up Via Facebook guy.
