With the 2012 presidential election season coming to a close, all last-minute voters trying to get out there and rock their vote, and as Americans hold their breath to hear the news of next president of the United States of America, there is something every PR girl can take away from the elections:
It’s not about winning or losing but about the message and staying faithful to your beliefs. In PR you will work on many campaigns and work endlessly with the media. However, even a successful campaign or a bad interview isn’t necessarily where it starts or ends as long as you stay consistent and the message remains singular throughout the ups and downs. If you hop around too much your credibility is questioned. It’s about constantly putting the SAME message out there, whether it’s about the change, the hope, the future, the next big thing so on election day, win or lose, you remain true to yourself and your client.
Big picture: If the other guy wins… I’m leaving the country.
