We have all heard and dreaded and faced and then eventually and hopefully lost the freshman 15. But who knew, 4 years later it comes back ten times worse as the Corporate Cajillion.
The first year fatties are no stranger to the working world.. The science behind it is pretty easy: less movement, more calories. It’s also very hard to avoid the birthday ice cream cakes, new business and promotion celebratory champagne, and the farmer market Thursdays of cookies and cinnamon cake. To top that, my sweet tooth will cry if there isn’t year round easy access to chocolate at all times so naturally a wonderful stash of chocolate is always in my 1 centimeter radius. Corporate Cajillion+ all the good food available in NYC = fattie McFatsons.
Managing your weight while working and playing in the city is very difficult. It’s not easy to go to the gym everyday when there are so many different things to do and people to see after work! And OK, I guess I could go at 6 am before work but who are we kidding? The snooze button is a familiar friend. After working in PR for the last 8 months I have come up with a strategy that’s been working so far to eat all the yums and not get an extra large big bum: Walk back home after work (and hopefully run into a celeb), go run at Central Park on Sunday mornings… it’s too pretty to say no too, pack your lunch instead of eating out. Much healthier and wallet friendly. And lastly, make gym dates because then you gotta go or be known as a lazy flake.
How do you avoid the Corporate Cajillion?
