Longhorn Lovin’

CONGRATULATIONS UT GRADUATES!!!

I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I graduated from the best school ever, leaving with the greatest of memories, a supportive education and a collection of amazing friends.  Every so often I do miss those UT days, the football games, the PCL late night study sessions and the feared laptop manipulation by closest of friends during bathroom breaks (“you spin my head right round” cracks me up every time!!!) Sixth Street will always hold a special place in my heart…after all that’s where I first met one of my best of friends (who, side note, is now moving to NYC too!!!), where I danced my butt off and laughed even more, the nights where I remember and don’t remember priceless memories with my besties. I will miss that my roomie was my sister and my neighbors were my best friends ♥ I will forever miss the “long-sleeve tee and nike shorts” days, the sorority formals, and the Gregory Gym work outs. I can’t deny that I don’t miss the free and overcrowded transportation of the e-bus, because on the real, what other city can say they have that? Trust me a subway at 3 am isn’t nearly as amazing as a bus of “Texas Fight, OU Sucks” rowdiness. I miss making stupid irrational decisions like go float the river instead of study for my finals and, of course, my amazing friends who supported those decisions. I miss the Austin summers of lazy drinking and river obsessions. It’s crazy how in 4 short years, I never got enough of seeing the Tower at sunrise, running to the capitol, or driving around the beautiful city of Austin and oh so much more!

Though leaving Austin and making the move to “Austin-on-Crack” was one of the best decisions for my career it was also one of the hardest thing I ever had to do. But the great thing is, Longhorns are everywhere so you learn to find your piece of Austin no matter where you go. So here’s a toast for you recent UT grads, cherish the memories and hold them near and dear as you embark onto the next chapter of your life as a Texas Ex! No matter what you do with your life here on out, you will always bleed burnt orange as a fellow longhorn for life #hookem
