Part of PR is thinking of new ideas and story angles about your client and pitching the idea to reporters and producers. If you are lucky, the media will be interested in it…might want to interview an executive for more info, might write a full cover page story on the big idea, or even use the idea for a supportive story of another bigger story. This is called a placement or a hit. However the truth is that more often than not, the media won’t bite.
Not interested.
Not writing anything relevant right now.
Or the worst….no response at all.

LOL!! Nemo’s dad is like the media skeptic of the idea and Dory is like the PR pro very excited about the client’s story
I can pitch 20 different reporters. Every Day. And hear back nothing… but in times like this you just have to remember, in the words of Dory the fish, “just keep pitching…just keep pitching” because when you secure a placement — big front page cover story of the Wall Street Journal or a small baby blog — it will feel amazing seeing the results and that someone somewhere out there read it and found interest in your client!! And trust me, every time you get a hit it will be as exciting as the first one and will never get old!
