With the chill kick still lingering in April I really was missing the April heat Texas brings… until I discovered a gem of springtime in April. Last week I went with a friend to Macy’s Flower parade, a dose of surreal spring in New York.
Each year Macy’s hosts the Flower Parade full of…well… flowers. This year the theme was Brasil: Garden’s of Paradise – having tons of bright flowers from what I assume the Amazon Rainforest would look like if I had ever been there myself. There were flower-shaped monkeys, birds and exotic flowers all along a garden pathway.
I’m not a big flower junkie except that I love daisies so seeing primroses and orchids (if that’s what I was looking at?) was a refreshing change of environment. I wish I could bring all the colors back home with me and decorate my room with it – but it definitely inspired me to go floral!
My only question is: How does Macy’s have so much money to bring all the excitement of Brasil to New York City?
