Not of envy, that is.
March is the month when the green grass reappears with the smell of spring in the air, the month green four leaf clovers are searched for and the month that celebrates St. Patrick’s allowing every Holiday lover to bring out the tucked away green stockings from Christmas.
But it’s time to add another Green to the list – environmentally green! Here are some tips and tricks I use to be a green bee around the office:
- So many of my friends are always on their computers for 40 something hours a week and then another 30 something outside of work. I have a few tricks to make your computer usage more efficient: make your comp sleep when not using, put your settings on the energy saving options, and turn off your desktop when leaving for the day.
Actually side story – it really bugs me when people do not tun off their monitor when they leave for the day. In fact, sometimes I do it for them. Ca mon peeps, push the little button before heading out for the day… save the world one monitor at a time… Back to the top tips:
- Print on both sides of the paper, especially when you need 7 copies of those 25 paged reports. Green, cost-effective, and start to REDUCE use by becoming digital and save trees
- Recycle and recycle and RECYCLE more. You can recycle all types of papers… fax paper, envelopes, printer paper, receipts and to-do lists!
- REUSABLE dishes! Bring your lunch in tupperware that you can wash and use again! That would save a lot of plastic utensils and paper plates and not to add is wallet-friendly and healthier!
What other green tricks do you use around the office? Maybe some plants? Or using natural energy? Let’s start eliminating our carbon footprint, one toe at a time!
I really enjoyed reading this fascinating post. It is quite helpful as well.
