My first Superbowl in New York City, Giants won the Super Bowl.
When the playoffs started, I was rooting for the Houston Texans (home team type of girl…). They made it far too but not all the way. So the next best thing was to root for now my second home’s football team – The Giants. And oh they made it far. They made it all the way. If you live under a rock…you might not know, but they won.
Best of all there’s a parade too! I don’t remember the last time I went to a sports-related parade… when the Rockets won the playoffs, jeez, decades back. I remember my mom, dad, and my older sister (younger sister wasn’t born yet) went in our car somewhere and there was jammed traffic but everyone was out of their cars and cheering. The Rocket girl gave me some gear like a poster and pom poms… where’s your camera when you need one right? So no lovely pictures to share. And no, none to share from the Giants win either.
But I realize I need more than pictures to document my stay in New York, I need to make the newspapers I get every day and put them to use and save the trees.
Side note – I always take the metro NY newspaper in the morning or the A.M. newspaper people hand out as you enter and leave the station ONLY because I feel bad that these poor trees are going to waste because they print so many only for nobody to read. So I pick it up. Read some local news… play some games… yak at the nasty ads of foot fungi.
So here is to the Giants, and here is to New York, and here is to saving trees (even if right behind this article is a story about a man killing someone.) Cheers!
